US Workshop Information

The e-INS US workshop is a unique opportunity for clinicians to learn and improve their knowledge and techniques from international experts in the field.

This workshop is aimed at clinicians who have basic ultrasonography usage practice and want to transfer this to neuromodulation practice. They will be coached and mentored in practices of neuromodulation. It will be both interesting and challenging, and participants will have gained important and relevant experience by the end of the workshop.

Ultrasound Topics & Course Objectives:

  • Lumbar Region & Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS): Lumbar region sonoanatomy and interlaminar space imaging, ultrasound-guided level determination, and interlaminar space entry technique with paramedian oblique approach
  • Sacral Region & Sacral Nerve Stimulation (SNS): Sacral region sonoanatomy and sacral neuroforamen imaging, ultrasound-guided S3 neuroforamen determination, and sacral foramen entry technique
  • Peripheral Nerve & Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS): Ultrasound-guided imaging and sonoanatomy of nerves and plexuses where peripheral nerve stimulation is frequently applied: Occipital nerve, Pudendal nerve, Ilioinguinal-Iliohypogastric, Brachial plexus, Sciatic nerve, genicular nerve etc.
The workshop comprises:

Hands-on practicals at US workstations: Demonstrations by experts will show how to use ultrasonography in the above subjects, where ultrasonography can be useful in neuromodulation procedures. The demonstrations will take place using live models and then participants will have the opportunity to practise the appropriate approach by holding the probe in their hands while under expert supervision. The high ratio of experts to participants allows a participant to gain valuable practice and individualised instruction.
